The Longbow-DMR is a semi-automatic sniper rifle. Its hyper-velocity round completely eliminates the need to lead targets, and allows the shooter to fire multiple shots quickly in succession.

The Longbow-DMR Sniper is a Primary Weapon for Pilots appearing in Titanfall.

Summary[edit | edit source]

The first sniper weapon Pilots can obtain, the Longbow uses hypervelocity ammunition, meaning that bullet travel time is almost instantaneous. In addition, the standard scope features an icon just below the reticule to indicate exactly where on the body the rounds impact the target.

Real-Life Counterpart[edit | edit source]

Seemingly designed as an upgraded, ranged variation of the R-101, the Longbow acts as equal parts Designated Marksman's rifle and antimateriel rifle, and, like the 101, bears a strong resemblance to TDI's proposed "Vector Rifle", with elements from Remington's ACR entry carbine. The stock, however, seems to be based on the Magpul PRS Sniper stock.

Acquired at Pilot Level 9.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

As a hitscan weapon, you do not need to lead the target. Two shots are typically needed to kill an enemy Pilot, unless you score a headshot. Adding a suppressor reduces the damage, making Pilot kills require 3 hits. You will need to account for scope-sway, unless you have the Stabilizer attachment.

Mods[edit | edit source]

6x Zoom Scope: This is considered to be the Longbow's "iron sights". This scope offers the highest magnification with two simple red lines forming a cross-hair. Use this sight if you want to adopt a long range sniper role.

AOG: This is the lowest mangification scope, at 2.4x. While you can still relatively "snipe" with this attachment, using this scope can be ideal if you want to get in on the action, but still carry a sniper rifle and get a reliable two-shot kill.

4.5x Zoom Scope: The 4.5x zoom scope is the middle ground. This scope is primarily used for those who don't know what role they want to undertake when using the Longbow. It is high enough to allow for a long range sniper role and low enough to support an aggressive pilot.

Extended Magazine: By default, the Longbow DMR comes with 8 rounds of amunition per clip. With the extended magazine, this ammo size is increased from 8 to 12. While 4 extra rounds seems small, it can help pilots get kills or stay in a sniping position for a longer period of time.

Suppressor: This mod will keep you off radar whenever you fire the weapon. This can help to support a sniper role in the fact that other enemies won't know where you're firing from. However the suppressor decreases the damage the Longbow does, meaning that your 2-shot kills become 3-shot kills.

Stabilizer: The stabilizer reduces the sway of the scope whenever you're aiming down your sights. While this sway is only noticeable with the 6x zoom scope, the stabilizer can help pilots be more accurate. If you want to adopt a long range sniper role, pair the stabilizer with the 6x zoom scope to be as effective as possible.
